Eggs
People are so concerned with eating too many eggs, because of the fat and cholesterol in them. Eggs are one of the most wonderful natural foods you can eat (unless of course you’re allergic or intolerant to them).
Vegetable and seed oils in processed foods is what you should be concerned about, yet not many people are away of their dangers. Dietary cholesterol has a minimal effect on blood levels. Cholesterol is vital and important for our bodies. This is what it does:
plays a role in fighting infection, it's part of our immune system.
builds the structure of cell membranes.
makes hormones like oestrogen, testosterone and adrenal hormones.
helps your metabolism work efficiently
essential to produce vitamin D.
Eggs actually improve our cholesterol profile. They also contain a lot of vitamins and minerals. 2 large eggs have:
Vitamin A: 10% of the RDA
Vitamin B2: 30% of the RDA
Vitamin B5: 14% of the RDA
Vitamin B9 (folate): 12% of the RDA
Vitamin B12: 44% of the RDA
Calcium: 5% of the RDA
Vitamin D: 9% of the RDA
Vitamin E: 5% of the RDA
Phosphorus: 18% of the RDA
Selenium: 44% of the RDA
Vegetable and seed oils are not designed for the human body. They wreak havoc by:
stressing the digestive system and liver.
causing inflammation.
destroying immune function (when fighting off an infection, they disrupt the process, can cause blood clots)
killing cells
causing low blood sugar
causing oxidative stress
causing insulin resistance
expanding fat cells (which means fat gain, and metabolic dysfunction)
Always read food labels and avoid anything with these oils: canola, soybean, cottonseed, safflower, peanut, corn, and sunflower (unless it’s “high oleic” sunflower which is almost impossible to know), any oil that is “hydrogenated”. Not even 12 eggs per day is too much, so don’t be scared of having more than just a couple per day.
