Try removing these 5 types of foods and additives from your diet to eliminate bloating and water retention
1. Vegetable gums & thickeners:
guar gum 412, acacia gum 414, xantham gum 415, agar 406, locust bean gum 410.
2. Sweeteners:
sorbitol 420, mannitol 421, maltitol 965, xylitol 967, erythritol 968.
Bloating isn't often a side effect of these two, but they can cause other issues like headaches: acesculfame potassium 950, aspartame 951.

3. Crucerferous vegetables:
Broccoli, broccoli sprouts, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, cabbage.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Legumes:
Beans, lentils, peas - the type in cans or dried that you have to soak and cook.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Apples:
Contain sorbitol which many of us can’t tolerate or digest.
Not everyone will experience digestive issues or water retention from consuming the above. But over 10 years as a sports nutritionist, I’d estimate more than half my clients do have issues with these foods and additives.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Give it a try and see if you notice a difference. The key is reading nutrition labels and getting damper with the names of different additives and their side effects.
